How do I replace the S9 sensor?

  1. Open EasySense: menu → CGM → Stop Sensor, then confirm by sliding on screen.
  2. If the transmitter isn’t connected, you’ll see “Try Again” and “Discard”. Tap Discard and make sure the button changes to Start Sensor.
  3. Remove the old sensor with the transmitter attached, insert a new sensor, and attach the transmitter to the new sensor.
  4. After the LED flashes 3 and 6 times, open CGM → Start Sensor.

How to add the calibration code after warm‑up?

After warm‑up, measure blood glucose with a glucometer, open EasySense, tap the glucometer icon on the home screen, enter the value, and confirm calibration.

How do I set up S9 in EasySense and add the transmitter?

  1. Settings → CGM System → CGM type → choose S9.
  2. Select Add Transmitter and register via QR code (on the box) or enter the SN manually.

How do I share glucose data with others?

  1. Use the Medtrum Easyview web app: easyview.medtrum.eu. Data are stored for up to 2 years; sign in with email and password and share with your clinician or family as needed.
  2. A family member can install the Medtrum EasyFollow app, create an account, and request access from the device user.

Do the S9 sensor or transmitter need charging?

The S9 sensor does not require charging (single‑use; 10‑day performance guarantee, 14‑day wear). The S9 transmitter does not require charging; lifespan up to 1 year.

Is S9 suitable during pregnancy?

Yes, S9 is suitable for use during pregnancy. Follow individual guidance and consult a healthcare professional as needed.

What if the sensor site bleeds?

Wait until bleeding stops. If blood entered the needle area, replace the sensor — otherwise it may not start or transmit readings.

Operating temperature and sauna

Operating range: 5–40 °C. Avoid direct sun and overheating. Do not go to a sauna with the sensor; remove it before, and insert a new one afterwards (do not reinsert the same sensor).

X‑ray, MRI, and CT exams

Remove the sensor and transmitter before the exam and keep them away from the treatment area. Insert a new sensor after the exam. Standard security systems and mobile phones are not an issue.

Can I use S9 if I don’t have diabetes?

Yes, it’s possible, but Tervisekassa reimbursement does not apply; the device must be purchased out‑of‑pocket.

How do I change the EasySense app language?

EasySense automatically follows the phone’s system language. Change the phone language to change the app language.

Warnings and precautions

  • Read the user guide before use; modifying the system is not permitted.
  • Allergy to acrylic adhesive: do not use (the white patch sold in Estonia is hypoallergenic).
  • Avoid high heat (sauna) and explosive gases; keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not ignore symptoms of high/low glucose; confirm with a glucometer if needed.
  • Dispose of components according to local regulations.

How long does S9 last and what’s the warranty?

The S9 sensor runs for up to 14 days. The manufacturer’s performance guarantee is 10 days from insertion. The transmitter is reusable and lasts up to 1 year.

How often does S9 measure and where can I see the data?

S9 measures glucose every 2 minutes. View data in the EasySense app for iOS and Android and on Apple Watch; trends and alerts display in real time.

What devices is it compatible with?

The EasySense app works on iOS and Android devices. To share data, use the Easyview web app (easyview.medtrum.eu).

Is S9 water‑resistant? Shower/swimming

Short contact with water is permitted; in salt water use a protective cover (e.g., ShowerShield) and dry thoroughly. Do not use in sauna — remove the sensor before and insert a new one afterwards.

From what age is S9 suitable?

S9 is indicated for people with diabetes from 2 years of age. Also suitable during pregnancy.

Does S9 require calibration?

In some cases, EasySense may request calibration (e.g., after warm‑up). Enter the sensor code from the package and add a glucometer value as instructed by the app.

Is the transmitter reusable and how long does it last?

Yes. The S9 transmitter is reusable, does not require charging, and lasts up to 1 year.

Contraindications

The system may be unsuitable if you cannot regularly check glucose by glucometer or respond to alerts; adequate vision/hearing is required to perceive alarms. Follow your doctor’s instructions.

Who is eligible for Tervisekassa reimbursement?

Under 19 years; type 1 diabetes; ages 19–25 on an insulin pump; type 2 on short‑acting insulin with persistent insulin deficiency (C‑peptide < 200 pmol/L). The clinician confirms eligibility per regulation.

Does S9 work in closed loop (EasyPatch)?

With the EasyPatch app update (08/2025), S9 support was removed. For a closed‑loop solution we recommend the Medtrum Nano sensor with the A8 transmitter.
